Building sustainably, creating value over time

Sustainability guides the way we design, renovate and build. Energy, materials and flexibility of use are all integrated into the earliest stages of planning, allowing Groupe Bernard Nicod to deliver high-performance, responsible and sustainable buildings, designed for both today and the future.

A sustainable vision, every step of the way

Description

Sustainable construction and renovation means balancing responsibility, quality of use and long-term value. We are well aware of the effects buildings have on their environment, and so we approach each project, whether new or existing, through the lens of its economic, social and environmental impact.

This approach guides both the design of new developments and the transformation and modernization of existing properties, with solutions that are more responsible, innovative and sustainable, designed according to their purpose, site and local context.

Energy designed to last

Description

Energy performance is built in right from the outset, whether it’s a new construction, conversion or renovation project. Orientation, compactness, envelope design, passive solar gains and adapted equipment are rigorously studied to reduce operational energy consumption.
Depending on the project, we implement a range of energy solutions – photovoltaics, geothermal systems, heat pumps, heat recovery systems and district heating – to improve overall efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and ensure long-term performance.

Buildings designed to evolve

Description

A sustainable building is one that can adapt. Because needs evolve rapidly, we anticipate the possibilities for transforming spaces, facilities and equipment right from the start.

This built-in flexibility facilitates future adaptations, extends the building’s useful life and allows for better control over long-term costs by avoiding the need for major works or unplanned upgrades further down the line.

The right materials, in the right place

Description

The choice of materials directly impacts a project’s environmental footprint, usability and the health of those who build and occupy it. We prioritize solutions chosen for their relevance, durability, potential for reuse or recycling, and health performance.

This requirement also extends to construction wood, for which we favor responsible channels and traceability, ensuring that each project follows a more resource-conscious, local and long-lasting approach, while remaining open to the most useful innovations on the market.
